On the 10th of December 2018, Nepal Electricity Authority released an online mobile application named as the NEA App. This application can be installed from Google Play Store and is compatible with any smartphone with at least Android 5.0 OS. The NEA app is currently available in version 3.0.2. More than a hundred thousand (100k+) people have installed this app and have given an average 3.1 stars rating to the app.
The icon of the NEA app consists of white colour with a blue coloured ‘N’ with 4 lines attached to it on the right side and a structure that looks like a dam on the left side. This icon is a part of the logo of the authority itself. Not only the icon, but the entire app uses blue as the theme colour; matching the colour of the logo.
How Can the NEA App Help You?
Before the app was introduced and even now, NEA workers used to and still come to your house to read the meter and hand you the monthly bill. However; when you are not home, they just keep the bills somewhere around your meter and sometimes do not even read the meter. This way, finding out the monthly charge is definitely troublesome. But this is not a matter to worry about any longer as the NEA app is here. Through which you can check and pay your bills effortlessly. So, download the app, and add your counter and meter right now.
The functions of this app are pretty helpful to the users as they can take the best advantages by:
- Adding their meter
- Viewing past and present bills
- Paying the bills online
- Adding DSC contacts
- Searching for the nearest charging station for their electric vehicle
- Getting news and updates regarding the authority and the app

To use these functions you will have to sign up for the app. Creating an NEA Account is a simple process. All you will have to do is enter your mobile number, verify it through the to code and create a password.
Adding Meter
- First of all, click on the meter tab on the bottom and then on add meter
- Enter the details and click on continue
- Click on Add address and enter the details and click on submit your meter will be added.
Once you add your meter, you will be able to view bills of the past and present month, do online payments and view the history of your payments as well.
Adding Counter
- Click on ‘My counter’ and then on add counter
- Select your province and then select the counter of your province and click on add.
You can find the tutorials on adding meters, adding counters or posting a complaint and viewing bills in the app as well. Furthermore, you can also look for a charging station to charge your electric vehicle and get directions by simply clicking on ‘Charging Station’.
