Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi is reportedly launching a gaming phone a few days from now, 27th April to be exact. Xiaomi has already got its gaming phone lineup: Black Shark and the upcoming Redmi gaming phone will inherit some of the specs and parts from them. The device could be launched named as Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The most impressive part of the phone will be its price tag as Redmi is a pioneer in providing value for money devices in almost every price range. So, without further delay, let’s dive right into the phone with expected specs and price in Nepal.
Speculations: Redmi Gaming Phone
Display & Performance
First of all, making all the gamers out there happy, the phone will have 144Hz Samsung E4 AMOLED screen. We all gamers understand the role of higher and better display in all competitive matches. Top of the line display is always a welcome feature in any device, not only smartphones. Though there are just handful of games supporting the frame rate till now, the device is future proof, at least for now.
Now the most important part of any gaming phone, its processor. It may come with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 5G processor on board. This is an octa-core CPU with 1×3.0 GHz Cortex-A78, 3×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The cortex-A78 cores can handle even the heaviest games in highest frame rates. So, you can enjoy your games smoothly without any frame drops. UFS 3.1 storage will give you an extra hand while doing day to day tasks as well. MediaTek is secretly working on a 4nm chipset, but the inclusion of it in a device is yet to be seen.
Battery & Other Features
We should see a 5000mAh battery on the phone with 67W fast charging support. As a gaming device, there will be shoulder buttons to make your gaming easier. If the haptic motor on the phone is good enough, then the phone will be a complete package for gamers for sure.
There are not much leaks and rumors about cameras though. However, a 64MP sensor with Sony sensor should be an option for the phone as every high end device has it nowadays.
With the likes of Rog Phone 5, Red Magic 6 and Legion Phone Duel 2, we’ll have to see how well the device performs as all others have got Snapdragon CPU inside them. If Redmi’s gaming phone comes at a reasonable price here in Nepal, the phone can set a good example of what a budget phone is capable of.
