OnePlus set the trend for bringing out phones well under the price as the phones performed. But recently, prices went high and were no longer considered just flagship-killers, rather being premium flagships. Just yesterday, OnePlus seems to be restoring their faiths in mid-range priced devices with the launch of OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 in their Nord series. Being the cheapest 5G phone from the company, how well it would hold up against the likes of OnePlus Nord? Is N100 a good move from the company to give you a premium taste of the best software experience without much hardware to show off? Let’s find out with OnePlus Nord N10 5G & OnePlus Nord N100 full specifications and price in Nepal.
OnePlus Nord N10 5G
Design & Display
This is a more premium offering from OnePlus between the two devices. The phone offers pretty much typical specs we would expect with the phone of the price. It’s got that plastic frame and Gorilla Glass 3 up at the front. The device comes in only one color, Midnight Blue. Sadly, you won’t get that alert slider on the phone, which was a signature dedicated button for OnePlus.
Talking about the display, we do see a downgrade from it’s expensive brother, OnePlus Nord, as expected. We now see a 6.49″ 1080 x 2400 pixels IPS LCD panel with 90Hz refresh rate. Yes, we would have loved to use an AMOLED screen here, but the strategy here is to separate their premium mid-range phone with mid-range products.
Performance
In terms of performance, the phone uses latest and cheapest 5G chip-set from Qualcomm: Snapdragon 690 5G. This is an octa-core processor with 2×2.0 GHz Kryo 560 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 560 Silver combination. Two Kryo 560 Gold (Cortex-A77) cores are high performance cores for remarkable performance which sits right in between 600 series and 765G. But, real life testing will be done soon in our channel after the device is launched in Nepal to test it’s goodness.
As for RAM/ROM configurations, it is available in only option, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 ROM.
Camera
In terms of camera, the phone has quad-camera setup on the back, sitting on similar design housing as seen on OnePlus 8T. There is a 64MP primary lens with 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP monochrome lens. On paper, this looks like an upgrade from OnePlus Nord, and at a lower price.
For selfie, there is a 16MP front facing camera on dot style notch on the device.
Battery & Others
There is a 4300mAh battery powering up the phone. You can charge the phone via 30W Warp charger. OnePlus never disappoints us in terms of charging, for sure. Being relatively small battery, even if you couldn’t go through the full day usage, charging the phone is going to be quick and should get you going again. The device comes with 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers as well. However, there is no official IP rating on the device for water/dust resistance.
OnePlus Nord N100
OnePlus Nord N100 is the cheapest offering from the company, in quite a while now. As it seems, OnePlus has cut too many corners to make the phone affordable. When you enter into that low budget segment, the phone should do exceptionally well to stand a chance. With the likes of Realme, Samsung and Redmi holding their positions tight, it’s unlikely that OnePlus Nord N100 will make a deep impact on the market. But, with OnePlus branding and impressive software experience, the phone can still make a deal for some group of users.
Design & Display
The device is built with plastic on the back and sides. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the front of N100. Only color option on the phone is Midnight Frost, which looks kind of grey.
The display on the phone is a bit of a mess, really. It is 6.52 inches HD+ IPS LCD panel with regular 60Hz refresh rate. It’s really disappointing to see OnePlus with average quality display here. At least, they could have gone with a full-HD panel. But, time and again, we should consider the price of device and lower our expectations.
Performance
OnePlus Nord N100 is using Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. This is a budget-friendly processor with average performance for the price. It is an octa-core CPU with 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 240 & 4×1.6 GHz Kryo 240 formation. You should expect good day-to-day performance, with light gaming on the device. However, this is not a powerful gaming device that you can rely on.
The above statement is supported by it’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. But, unlike OnePlus, we do get an option to expand internal storage via microSD card.
Camera
In terms of camera, there is a triple camera setup with 13MP+2MP+2MP combination. Here, two 2MP lenses are macro and depth sensor, which are not much of use anyway. For selfie, there is an 8MP camera at hole-punch cutout at the front. So, camera department is not the strength of the phone.
Battery & Other Features
The phone comes with a large 5000mAh battery, with regular 18W USB Type-C fast charging, and not super fast Warp charging. We get a fingerprint scanner at the back. The phone supports dual stereo speakers as well. We get Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.5 with the device. This is one of the cleanest and best android experience you will get for the money, which is USP of the device.
