Vivo V21 is finally official in Nepal after the end of pre-order period. The phone got quite a hype regarding its camera and design. Vivo V21 offers cool new features in the camera department and is light and slim. The phone is definitely targeted towards youths seeking slim and light budget phone with decent camera performance. But, with the likes of Poco F3 and OnePlus Nord ruling the market right now, how good the phone can hold? Let’s find out in this quick review of the phone with full specifications and price in Nepal.
Design & Display
The phone is light in weight with just 176g and slim with just 7.29mm (Dusk Blue color) and 7.39mm (Sunset Dazzle/Arctic White ) thickness. The back glass has anti-glare matte finish, which looks premium to be honest. Also, the back glass has flat egdes, which is becoming a trend now. The front panel has dew-drop notch but a hole punch would have been nice.
Talking about the display, there is a compact 6.44″ FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display. The inclusion of 120Hz AMOLED would have been nice but, it is what it is.
Camera & Performance
The most talked about feature or specification of the phone is its camera, camera and camera. It has triple rear camera with 44MP OIS primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. There are features like night mode, ultra-wide night mode and 4K video recording as well.
The front facing camera gets the most highlight here. It has 44MP, f/2.0 selfie camera with OIS. So, it is the first phone in Nepal with 44MP OIS selfie camera, as the company claims. You can capture 4K videos from selfie camera too, but without OIS. Other features include night mode, ultra stable videos, dual selfie flash, etc.
Vivo V21 has MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip-set. On paper, it is a 5G processor but there are two variants of the phone with same CPU, one with 5G and another without one. In Nepal, only 4G variant is launched as of now. It is an octa-core (2×2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU built on 7nm process. So, gaming on the phone should be pretty good too. In terms of storage options, it has 8GB RAM with 128GB of slower UFS 2.2 storage.
Other Specs
It has small 4000mAh battery. Good thing is it comes with 33W USB-C fast charging support. There is no headphone jack on the device. So, you will get an adapter for the purpose on the box itself. Since the display is AMOLED, there is in-display fingerprint scanner on the device.
