The highest battery powered automobile seller Tesla is supposedly looking for places in India with plans of investing 3 Billion dollars. It is reported that Tesla is in full preparation to make this happen as they’re planning on sending a team to India in the near future to look for appropriate locations where these factories could be made. It is said that the major places they’re going to be looking at are Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. These are the places with the highest amounts of consumers as well as producers of automobiles and would work great for a Tesla factory in India.
India has reduced the import taxes on a lot of Electric Vehicles over time that are willing to invest over 500 Million $ to create their own manufacturing plants in India itself. This also align with PM Narendra Modi’s plans to expand domestic productions in India. The government of India also revealed that they have signed a scheme to let EV manufactures build their cars in the country and promote India as a manufacturing destination with the latest technologies.

India is a huge market for EVs and Tesla’s production in India will create surge of Tesla ownership throughout the country as the popularity of the brand in India is already super high. This is also going to be a major competition for Chinese EV makers like BYD as they have been outshining Tesla for a while in terms of the global EV sales.
