For the first time in Nepal, WorldLink users can now get a 10% VAT refund on their bill payment through Khalti. Initiated through finance bill 2076 by the then Finance Minister Mr. Yuvraj Khatiwada, Khalti coordinated with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and WorldLink taking this mandate ahead. WorldLink and Khalti together are working hand-in-hand to promote Nepal’s digital economy and meet the common mission of Digital Nepal.
Regarding this new implementation, Mr. Binay Khadka, Chief Executive Officerof Khalti shared:
“This service will definitely accelerate our vision to bring financial inclusion to all Nepalese. Along with this, we’ll be working on many more innovations collaborating with the government and other bodies to bring more unique services and facilities.“
Speaking about this new implementation, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sah, group CFO of WorldLink Communications Limited shared:
“Khalti, as a payment partner of Worldlink, has been offering various cashback offers to Worldlink users. I believe, in addition to existing offers, the VAT refund offer will massively contribute to the common goal of Digital Nepal and encourage Worldlink users to pay online through Khalti. “
What else is Khalti providing apart from 10% VAT refund?
In addition to 10% VAT refund, Khalti has already been giving 1.5% Cashback + Rs. 100 Off using Promo Code GOCASHLESS on WorldLink bill payment in order to promote a cashless economy. This additional VAT Refund will further uplift and directly benefit 650,000 WorldLink Households towards digital Nepal.
