The refundable deposit will be returned to the subscribers if they return the router in working condition. Fair Usage Policy is also applicable for this package. Even if your internet service provider (ISP) claims to offer “unlimited” downloads, this is usually subject to a “fair use policy.”
What is Fair Usage Policy (FUP)?
ISPs all around the world implement Fair Usage Policy (FUP), which allows them to limit or reduce Internet speeds on unlimited plans in order to avoid misuse or excessive use of bandwidth. These limits are in place to guarantee that the finest possible broadband service is provided to the maximum number of people. Even if you have a 120 Mbps connection with unlimited downloads, your speed may be severely restricted during peak hours. Many customers who purchased high-speed packages based on their usage habits may be frustrated by this. The high speed shown in advertisement targets a large number of customers and pushes them to sign up for super-fast internet and unlimited data plans.
How Does CGNET’s Fair Usage Policy Works?
Depending on the customer’s use over the course of a monthly cycle, there are three levels of speed throttling. Clients’ speeds will be throttled to 50% when they pass the Level 1 Fair Usage Quota barrier, 30% when they reach the Level 2 barrier, and 10% when they pass the Level 3 barrier. If a subscriber has exceeded their FUP Quota, their data consumption counter will reset on the first of each month, and their Internet speed will be restored.
FUP Level | Data Usage Quota | FUP Speed Policy |
---|---|---|
Original Data Bandwidth | Data Consumption to 1900 GB | 120 MBPS Original Speed |
Level 1 | Data Consumption 1900-2000 GB | 50% of original |
Level 2 | Data Consumption 2000-2100 GB | 30% of original |
Level 3 | Data Consumption More than 2100 GB | 10% of original |
