Amazon has introduced its first-ever Amazon Prime Mobile Editon in India at ₹89 ($1) a month. With the help of this introductory plan, Amazon wants to reach out to all segments of the Indian population including the Indian Mobile users. The plan can be used only by a single person and provides all the Amazon’s content on SD quality.

Earlier last year Amazon prime video’s rival Netflix had Introduced mobile-only plans priced at ₹199 per month targeting smartphone users. Now Amazon prime video wants to target the same segment with much lower costs. Mobile phones are the primary and one of the most widely used streaming devices in India.
Amazon prime video has partnered with India’s second-largest telecom service provider Bharti Airtel to bring the plan. Prepaid customers of Airtel can get a free trial of Amazon prime video for the first 30 days. After the expiry of the free trial, users can choose from a variety of plans including the prime video Mobile edition plan at the cost of Indian ₹89 . Users will also be provided with an additional data pack of 6GB. Airtel’s ₹299 prepaid plan offers access to Prime Video content for 28 days along with 1.5GB per day and unlimited calls. .
