Performance
4K Visuals
The HORIZON 20 uses a 0.47-inch DMD DLP system with 4K pixel-shifted output. Its 3,200 ISO lumens brightness also helps the projector produce a punchy image in a variety of room conditions.
For movie nights, the combination of 4K resolution, 20,000:1 contrast and wide color coverage gives the HORIZON 20 a strong home-theater focus.
RGB Triple-Laser Color
One of the biggest highlights is the RGB triple-laser light source.
The projector covers up to 110% of the BT.2020 color gamut, helping it deliver rich colors across movies, games and other content. The triple-laser system also avoids the need for a traditional lamp-based light source.
Gaming Performance
The HORIZON 20 is not limited to movies.
It supports refresh rates of up to 240Hz and can achieve 1ms input latency at 1080p/240Hz. At 1080p/120Hz, latency drops to 2.2ms, while 4K/60Hz gaming is rated at 3ms under the specified conditions.
This makes the projector particularly interesting for users who want a massive gaming screen without giving up the convenience of a home cinema setup.
HDR and Cinema Features
The projector supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Filmmaker Mode and IMAX Enhanced.
That combination makes the HORIZON 20 suitable for modern streaming content, movies and cinematic viewing. XGIMI also includes 3D support for compatible content.
Smart Features
Google TV is built into the projector, allowing users to access supported streaming and entertainment services without relying on a separate streaming box.
The projector also supports Google Cast and DLNA for compatible devices.
Setup and Smart Adjustment
Setting up a projector can often be frustrating. XGIMI addresses that with its intelligent setup system.
The HORIZON 20 supports:
- Auto focus
- Auto keystone correction
- Intelligent screen alignment
- Intelligent obstacle avoidance
- Wall-color adaptation
- Optical zoom
- Lens shift
These features help users position the projector more easily without spending too much time manually adjusting the image.
Design and Build Quality
The HORIZON 20 follows a clean, modern projector design rather than looking like a traditional bulky home-theater unit.
It measures 249 × 298 × 190 mm and weighs around 4.8 kg. Despite its compact footprint, XGIMI packs a powerful RGB triple-laser engine, optical zoom, lens shift and built-in Harman Kardon speakers inside.
The projector can also be positioned using different projection methods, including front, rear and ceiling projection.
Audio
The HORIZON 20 comes with two 12W Harman Kardon speakers.
It supports DTS Virtual, DTS-HD and Dolby Audio formats. HDMI eARC also allows users to connect the projector to a compatible soundbar or external audio system for a more immersive setup.
For casual movie watching, the built-in speakers can reduce the need for an additional sound system. However, users building a dedicated home theater can pair it with external speakers or a soundbar.
Connectivity
The HORIZON 20 offers a useful selection of wired and wireless connections.
It includes:
- 2 × HDMI
- HDMI eARC
- USB 3.0
- USB 2.0
- Optical audio output
- Audio output
- Wi-Fi 6
