Ms. Sunaina Ghimire Pandey is a known persona in the field of Information and Communication Technology in Nepal. She has an experience of over 21 years in this field as she started her journey in 1998 as a programmer and an instructor. She has worked as an Assistant General Manager of a Multinational Company called Tech One Global Nepal, as a Project Coordinator on Series of Microsoft Operating System & Application Localization. In 2005 she moved to sales and marketing as Microsoft Account Manager and in 2007 she leads Microsoft Partnership for Technology Access (PTA) program as a Business Development Manager.
She has been associated with the social sector in development initiatives on creating technology-mediated frameworks for rural e-service, served as a member of Lions Club. She has also served in the Forum for Information Technology Nepal (FIT Nepal) as a General Secretary, in the Nepali Language in Information Technology Committee under High-Level Commission for IT (HLCIT) of Nepal Government and also in Open Knowledge Network of One World South Asia (OWSA), the UK as a Member. Talking about the Nepali language she was involved in creating the first Nepali Spell Checker Engine, Nepali IT Glossary, Corpus, Style Book and Character Code in collaboration with various government organizations. When she worked as a Project Coordinator in Unlimited Technologies she was responsible for the Localization Project of Microsoft Operating System “Windows XP” and Microsoft Office Application “Microsoft Office 2003” for its first time development in the Nepali Language which was launched by Microsoft in February 2006.
She has been in the post of Vice President of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) from 2017 onwards. She has collected a lot of experiences in over 21 years of working in this field of ICT in different organizations, at different levels. As she gains her popularity from her work ethics, determination, leadership and responsibility she has decided on running for the position of Chairman for the upcoming election of Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN) on 23rd November 2019.
