The Inspiring Story of Nischal Basnet: From Farming Background to Successful Graphic Designer at 18

Nischal Basnet, an 18-year-old boy from a farming background in Nepal, has achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a successful graphic designer. From a young age, Nischal knew that he wanted to take a different path than the traditional methods of earning a livelihood in his community. He quickly realized that he had a natural talent for graphic design and began pursuing his passion at just eight years old.

Nischal started his journey using just his smartphone as a graphic designer, creating YouTube thumbnails for popular Nepali YouTubers. As he gained more experience, he knew that he had the potential to do more. He invested in a custom-made PC with the help of a loan, which proved to be a game-changer in his career.

Nischal’s hard work and dedication started paying off, and he began getting noticed by popular creators. He pitched his work to PK Vines, Jerry Limbu, and Sajan Sreshta, and fortunately, he received a positive response from them. He worked for Nepali creators for almost five months, but he was only paid 1 thousand per thumbnail. Realizing that he needed to expand his horizons, he started pitching to foreign creators and made a good-looking portfolio. He successfully attracted the Carry Minati team and Tech Burner Team.

With his exceptional work, Nischal received a full-time designer position offer from one of the foreign creators, with a very good package. However, as a 12th student, he had a limitation of time, and unfortunately, he had to decline the offer. But his fortune was good, and he received a DM from Triggered Insaan the next week.

Nischal began designing thumbnails for Triggered Insaan on a freelance basis, and after two weeks of work, he offered to pay him 15k INR. However, Nischal had an unusual request. He asked for a MacBook as a token of work instead of the money. Surprisingly, Triggered Insaan agreed and sent him an Apple MacBook Air M1 worth 220k NPR from Flipkart.

Nischal had to go to Kurseong, Darjeeling, to receive his MacBook, and finally, he got it and clicked a picture! The moment he received the MacBook was a dream come true for him. He realized that his hard work and dedication had paid off, and he was finally able to earn as much as he had dreamed about since he was eight years old.

Nischal’s journey is a perfect example of how hard work, dedication, and perseverance can help one achieve their dreams. He had to overcome several obstacles and limitations to reach his goal, but he never gave up on his passion for graphic design.
