Xiaomi is set to release its first-ever punch hole camera with the new model of the Redmi series, i.e the Redmi K30. Not just that but also this will be the first phone from Redmi to support 5G connectivity. The punch hole camera is set to phase out the popular trend of pop up selfie cameras that we had been seeing in numerous phones in the market.
The Redmi K30 will have a hole punch cut out in the top right of the display which will constitute two selfie cameras as revealed by Xiaomi which will be somewhat similar to the setup that we have been seeing the Samsung Galaxy S10+. This makes a case for significant improvements in face recognition as well as other features. Redmi will also be the first brand to use the Snapdragon 700 series 5G SoC which makes this phone look even more promising.
However, we have been warned that this phone will not come cheap and it is expected to be featured with some higher-end category of Redmi phones. It is still going to be available at a cheaper than 5G phones from other brands like Samsung so it isn’t a complete deal-breaker.
The Redmi K30 will be the successor of the popular Redmi K20 and K20 Pro with the company already offering a discount on its predecessors. We can expect the Redmi K30 to be launched in the first quarter of the next year along with the Redmi K30 Pro to follow it up.
