As we’ve always heard youths are the future; they’re not just future they’re also the present. The contribution of young minds is vital for the overall development of the nation and the world for sustainable peace, preventing conflict, and countering other problems that prevail. Their contribution in promoting peace and sustainable development will prove to be crucial in the future. Engaging them helps them to become a responsible person as it gets them to realize the role each one of them plays in building a better world.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 global goals recognized by the UN and designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The UN recognizes young people as rights-holders and promotes and facilitates transparency, accountability, and responsiveness from governments, international organizations, and others toward young people.
To promote these goals and to discuss the ways to achieve these goals, these sorts of events prove to be helpful. These Youth Action Forums are the series of global events that are held to make young minds aware of how they can contribute to a global perspective to achieve Sustainable Development Goals for a better future for all.
NxtGen IOE is organizing “Online SDG Youth Action Forum” with this global motive of a better future.
About NxtGen IOE
NxtGen is a unified, nonprofit campus organization formed by the students of the IOE Pulchowk Campus. The organization was created to improve the learning experience and develop the entrepreneurial mindset of the students.
Moreover, it also organizes international level events to create a platform for students to participate and learn from the experts. It helps to develop and explore the creative potential of the students and also help them turn their ideas into viable businesses.
Within 3 months, NxtGen has grown from being a campus organization to change-makers and youth leaders.
Facilitators of Online SDG Youth Action Forum
Mr. Mark Jacinto is the facilitator of this program. He is a Field SDG Advocate under MY World 2030, an initiative by the UN SDG Action Campaign, UNDP, and the Overseas Development Institute with thousands of additional outreach partners from UN agencies and NGOs. MY World 2030 continues from the highly successful MY World 2015 project which had gathered and channeled the voices of ten million people into the deliberations of what the Goals should be. Mark is also a professional event planner from the Philippines. He will be sharing his insights and knowledge about SDGs, My World 2030 Agenda, and how youths can contribute towards its achievement.
