NIC Asia, a “Class A” commercial bank, established on 21st July 1998, is currently one of the largest private-sector commercial banks in Nepal; regarding its capital base, balance-sheet size, number of branches, ATM network, and customer base. NIC Asia has proven itself to be one of the most successful banks in Nepal. These days, almost all banks are getting digitized to facilitate the transactions of their customers by using their devices from anywhere. With this pandemic situation, digitization has become more important than ever. NIC Asia is persistently working towards becoming the “Digital First Bank”. They are aiming to channelize 90% of their total transactions digitally in the upcoming years.

NIC Asia Digital Account Opening

NIC Asia Bank comes with exciting offers and services time and again and this time, it has brought a digital bank opening system in which customers can visit any NIC Asia branch office and open a digital account by themselves. Instead of all the paper works, customers can now easily fill and submit their account opening forms digitally. This system comes with 9 new premium super magical account options and the customers will have to select one among them which they like the most. For the customers who are unable to fill digital forms by themselves, workers will be there to help them.

Previously, the bank brought an iServe system in which people were able to fill vouchers digitally and deposit money in their accounts. The bank also introduced digitalization in its mobile banking service, service to unlock, block and reset pin, service to view details of savings, cheque request, e-commerce registration, balance certificate request, statement request, and more. Following the path of Digital First Bank, NIC Asia Bank is creating a paperless banking system. Moreover, by digitalizing its services, the bank is making an effort to contribute in Nepal Government’s Cashless Economy concept.

Nearly 22 lakh people are using digital services provided by NIC Asia Bank like debit and credit cards, mobile banking, internet banking and more. So, the bank is trying to digitalize utility payments so that digital services will be easily accessible to all. With the digitalization, users can get 30% discount while making digital payments via mobile banking or cards in more than 2,500 hospitals, hotels and restaurants, department stores and more.

With the immense trust, love, and support of Nepali citizens, the bank has been successful to grow a lot. It has established 326 branches, 465 ATM, 101 extension counters and it even owns Nepal’s biggest branch media which provides banking services nationwide destitute of its 64 branches. Practicing responsible banking system, the bank as a whole is operating with more than 21 lakh skilled workers who have shown great interest in their works and are happy to be working.  Past year NIC Asia Bank paid more than 1 billion 87 million as revenue to Nepal Government. Further, for financial inclusion, the bank has established branches in more than 34 local offices throughout Mugu, Kalikot, Bajhang, Rukum, Jumla, Salyan, and other insurmountable areas. In this way, NIC Asia is aiming to extend its branches all over the nation so that every citizen will be able to say, “Yes, I have a long-term banking friend, NIC Asia Bank” no matter in which corner s/he is.
