Infinix has launched three devices from its Smart series in the Nepali market. All three phones are entry level devices that are priced very competitively with other brands. These three phones,
- Infinix Smart 8
- Infinix Smart 8 pro &
- Infinix Smart 8 plus
offer something unique compared to other smart phone brand’s budget segment and the best thing about the Smart 8 plus is that it offers a huge 6000 mAh battery. An entry level phone with 6000 mAh battery is a steal DEAL! This phone is not all about its battery as there are other features this phone flaunts that makes it even better. Everything you need to know
This and that opinions forming about a budget phone is not uncommon, but even in the Smart series from Infinix itself, this particular phone stands out. This isn’t just a usual budget phone claiming to be offering a ton of features in an unexpected price but very much does offer unexpected features in an unexpected price.
Right from the 6000 mAh to the Helio G36 processor it uses, come on, one’s gotta admit that getting these for just 13,999 is impressive. For a quick reference, let’s compare this phone to the Redmi A3, that is available right now in Nepal for रु 12,999.
Redmi A3 is a good comparison as it uses the same SoC but if we do take a closer look, Smart 8 plus has 1000 mAh more battery offering, expandable memory up to 2 TB which is an entire TB more, and has an 18W charger. All of that, for a रु 1000 more? WHY NOT!

Looking at the Infinix Smart 8 plus, this phone is an absolute beast for the price you get it for. This phone has a 6.56 inch display the same as the other two phones from the Smart series and this phone offers a 2.5D Punch Hole display at the top. You get this phone in three different colors and the feel to this phone is amazing.
No kidding, even though all the phones these days tend to look like a copy of an iPhone in the terms of design but this phone does not feel like you are holding a budget phone. Obviously, the phone has a plastic build with a glass front and it is inevitable for the phone to not feel “plasticy” but the way it sits on your hand is great.
I would go as far as saying, one of the best non budget feeling budget phone out there. There are other phones in the same price range that offer silicone backs and gorilla glass but realistically speaking, the Infinix Smart 8 Plus’s build is strong and out there too.
This phone also has a decent camera setup, it has the same 50 MP camera with an 0.08 MP auxiliary lens at the rear paired with a ring LED flash. In the front, you get an 8MP selfie camera and cameras here aren’t so great. They do exactly what a budget phone does, capture photos good enough for you to look back at memories.
Talking about the display of the Smart 8 Plus, it has a IPS LCD display with a peak brightness of 500 nits and a screen refresh rate of 90Hz. The screen refresh rate is definitely good but other smart series devices and a few other budget phones offer it too. That still is a good to have feature for the price of below 14000.
This 90Hz refresh rate makes the phone so much more smoother paired with the Helio G36. The brightness is where is throws me off, just 500 nits peak brightness is going to make using this phone is bright sunlight challenging but again, for 13,999 we have to set realistic expectations.
The battery life is great, the photos are decent, the phone looks amazing and you even get quirky features like cool colors. This processor is amazing, Helio G36 does a great job here and can handle smooth light weight gamings and there is no lags what so ever doing anything in this phone. Infinix really did come through with this phone creating an actually value for money device in this segment. There are some cons to be noted too like the missing protection features, plastic build, the Android but they don’t make this phone bad, just ” ALMOST” perfect.
