BMUCO is going to organize a lecture on Extraterrestrial Life on 25th August 2021. One of the most fascinating areas in astronomy is the quest for alien life. The strange interstellar object ‘Oumuamua’ provided the first preliminary hints close to Earth. We might be a basic and common type of life in the universe, similar to ants in a kitchen. If that’s the case, the new frontier of “space archaeology” can teach us a lot from others out there. The talk will include material from both Loeb’s book “Extraterrestrial” and his comments.
The mission of BMUCO (the organizer) is to increase scientific literacy among individuals in developing nations and throughout the world. The organization was founded to encourage global collaboration among students, researchers, and scientists to promote the production of scientific knowledge and innovation. They want to be the finest global science organization in the world, changing mankind and beyond.
About Abraham Loeb
Professor Loeb received his PhD in plasma physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1986, at the age of 24, and went on to work at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton from 1988 to 1993, where he began research on theoretical astrophysics. He started at Harvard in 1993 and was tenured three years later. He is a Jr. Professor of Science and previous department chair at Frank B. Baird. He is also a visiting professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science and a Sackler Senior Professor by special appointment in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel Aviv University.
This event aims to bring together professors and physics enthusiasts who want to work with cosmologists. Attendees may learn about alien life, which is one of the exciting themes.
