DaVinci Resolve 17 was published in public beta form in November 2020 and contains substantial enhancements to numerous functions. DaVinci Resolve 17 is claimed to be the world’s only tool that integrates professional 8K editing, colour correction, visual effects, as well as audio post-production into a single application. While this video post-production software is extensive, it lacks built-in integration with picture editing, 3D modelling, or music composition tools. It can take any format created by other software suppliers. However, other suites may include this program and tie it all together nicely. DaVinci Resolve 17 is a product of Blackmagic Design Pvt.Ltd.
What’s New in DaVinci Resolve 17
Importing Clips
The Media Page in DaVinci Resolve allows you to preview, import, and manage media. Files are never transferred, they don’t need to be “ingested,” and they aren’t kept in restricted areas. Everything is precisely where you left it on your hard disks. Simply drag and drop to the media pool bins in your project or into a timeline.
Organizing Media
Smart Bins may be used to automatically categorize and show film depending on metadata. Bins can be seen as icons that indicate in/out indicators or as a configurable list view with markers. Multiple bins may now be opened in different windows.
Marking Clips
In the source viewer or directly in your project’s bins, you could load and mark clips. Scrub over a clip icon and enter your in and out points. The highlighted section of the footage is shown as a graphical overlay on the icon. In the source monitor, markers and notes will now be displayed in list view and as overlays.
Powerful Metadata Tools
Metadata from the files are automatically loaded, and you can even add your own unique keywords and tags. Similarly, Keywords, camera type, and other information may all be used to classify footage into smart bins. Using scene, shot, and take metadata, you can even modify the display titles of clips. That means you won’t have to rename any media files ever again.
More:
The software’s colour grading features are still some of its best, although it now has a list of features. The inclusion of the magic mask function is a special highlight. This is a basic tool that allows you to isolate a certain person from the rest of the video. The colour warper is also useful for changing a clip’s colour and brightness simultaneously. Users can collaborate on a project using this application. Users can now work at the same time without interfering with other’s work. Previously, the collaboration feature was only available to premium users, but it has now been made available for free users.
Fairlight allows you to work with up to 2,000 tracks, allowing you to create incredibly complicated projects. You also receive a plethora of professional tools for recording, editing, mixing and dialog replacement. Similarly, it allows sound clean-up and repair, equalization, dynamics processing, and mastering soundtracks in all common formats, from stereo and surround sound to the most immersive 3D audio formats. The Fairlight page has everything you need, whether you’re a first-time Fairlight user, a ProTools user switching to DaVinci Resolve, or a sound engineer working on a huge console.

The studio version could cost you nearly $295. All license holders will receive the current version and all future releases and major changes. Even when compared to some of its largest competitors, the pricing is quite competitive.
