Coolpad Cool 12A: A Decent Budget Phone To Consider Under Rs. 14000

Coolpad Nepal has launched yet another entry-level smartphone named Cool 12A. The company initially considered to launch the smartphone in India. But, due to ongoing conditions, it is launched in Nepal before India. If we consider the price of the phone, it should fulfill pretty much every demand you would make for a smartphone in the price segment like triple camera, cool design and large enough battery. You should not get any high hopes for the performance part though. Having said that, let’s take a closer look into the phone and see how it fits the budget with key specifications, price in Nepal and availability.

Overview

Design & Display

The first thing you would like to be nice in a phone is its design. And to our surprise, the design is much better than expected. The gradient finish on the back looks impressive, specially on the blue color option. Having smaller screen size than most other phones, it is very comfortable to hold in hand.

The device has 6.127″ HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels) resolution display. In our initial testing, we found the display to be quite good if we consider the price. There is no ghosting and brightness is pretty good too. So overall, it is on par with most of the phones out there in this segment.

Camera & Performance

Coolpad Cool 12A has got triple camera setup. The primary sensor is 13MP, second is 2MP depth sensor and last one is of 0.3MP, which we are uncertain about what it can achieve. There is a 5MP front facing camera on tear-drop style notch at the front. Cameras will be tested thoroughly on our detailed review in our YouTube channel. So, stay tuned.

The phone has got Unisoc Tiger T310 as CPU, which has just quad cores (1×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 3×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55). Having Cortex-A75 ,it could have been more powerful if it had octa-cores. But, being built on 12nm, it should be battery efficient to say the most.

It comes in 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM option, with room to extend memory with microSD card.

Other Features

For battery, it has 4000mAh one with 10W USB Type-C charging support, which is a good move. The phone ships with Android 11 out of the box.
