On 18th August, OPPO officially announced the release of ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 following the announcement of Android 13 made by Google at the beginning of this week. At the event, OPPO unveiled new features that we can see on ColorOS 13. It has already been available in the Find X5 series.
Starting from September, other smartphones of OPPO will also get the update and by the end of March 2023, most of the smartphones will have already gotten ColorOS 13 as per the company. New updates bring new features to the devices; so does ColorOS 13. Here we will talk about new features on ColorOS 13 and eligible devices.
ColorOS 13; Features
- Similar to OxygenOS 13, ColorOS 13 avails itself of aquamorphic design that uses blue as the theme color and card style layout in the apps making them more organized.
- A number of widgets like weather, battery usage, contacts, ram optimizer, clock, files, pictures, etc. have been added that animate making the home screen look active. Furthermore, you can put all those widgets in only one spot and just scroll to see them.
- App icons are made bright and bubble-like and the home screen is also introduced with a new live wallpaper that will match the color of the app icon that you are using the most and depict how long you are using the device.
- The quick settings panel will consist of three large rectangles; two of the settings that you are using the most and the other of the music player. For instance, if you are using WiFi and Bluetooth the most they will show up on the panel as two separate and big rectangles along with the music player by their side.
- Another creative change has been introduced in the Always-on-display. Apps like Spotify, Zomato, etc. can be kept on always-on display which will make getting pieces of information from those apps even handier. Additionally, you can also use animations like moving animals and Snapchat Bitmoji on always-on-display. This is cool as each of those animations has its own meaning.
- All those basic security standards released by Google in Android 13 are included in the ColorOS 13. These include atomatic deleting of your clipboard history after 1 hour, not revealing your location along with automatic bluring of profile pictures and names from the chat screenshots, private safe, kids’ space, and so on.
- The new feature multiscreen connect will enable you to display three screens all at once on a PC. Also, you can transfer files without using mobile data.
