Code For Change Opens Its Membership Application: Learn How To Become A Member

As the IT world grows more and more competitive each day, the students and learners of IT fields must be prepared for the fast-changing world. Realizing this, aiming to prepare students for their future, a youth initiative Code For Change opens its membership application for general members where it will provide relevant skills to prepare them for their career, be it professional or personal skills. About Code for Change

Formed in 2017, Code for Change is an initiative of Youth in Social Change which is a non-profit organization. It has come into fruition in collaboration with the students pursuing technology from various colleges around the country. The main aim of Code for Change is to bring the students pursuing technology and industry professionals together to bridge the gap between IT Industry and those students along with spreading technological awareness among people. They believe that students should be provided with relevant skills to prepare themselves for their careers. Realizing this fact, the Code for Change platform was initiated to provide a platform and opportunities for those students to enhance their personal and relevant professional skills.

How to be a Code for Change member

With the vision – To be Nepal’s largest platform for students pursuing technology, Code for Change is coming up with the opportunity for those students who wish to improve their practical and professional skills. Now, let’s check how to apply to be a code for change general member.

• Step 1: Visit the general membership application form below and click it. Upon clicking the membership form link you will land into a Google Form page with various details.
• Step 2: In the first page, fill up your name, email, address and phone number along with your college located state. Note that you are required to submit all these details before proceeding to the next page.
• Step 3: Now in second page, you are required to submit college’s district, college name, faculty, and current semester.
• Step 4: In the final section of the form you must answer how you were referred, what skills you wish to learn, your interest of language, your reason for joining CFC, and your other queries.
• Step 5: Finally, submit the form and the code for change team will reach back to you with further details.

As of now, 45 Executive members from 22 different IT colleges from 4 cities (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dang, Butwal) and 55 College representatives from 37 different IT colleges from 4 cities (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dang, Butwal) has been already selected for the tenure 21.22. After the successful completion of executives and college representatives recruitment, Code for Change has opened the membership form for the tenure of 21.22.

Eligibility and Application Charges

The students pursuing any IT-related courses can apply for Code for change general membership. The charge for membership is NRs. 200, including membership form and ID card (rope and cardholder), charges NRs. 150 each.

What does Code for Change do?

Code for Change provides an exposure opportunity for the students with practical application of the latest technology they have been learning in their classrooms. Every student who enrolls in this initiative will get to participate in several workshops, hackathons, social impact events, and internship opportunities.

1. Workshops

Code for Change organizes several personal and professional workshops throughout the calendar year. The workshops are intended to provide technical as well as market-related knowledge.

2. Hackathon

“CodeFest” is the hackathon competition organized by Code for Change. It is one of the grand tech events planned for tenure 21.22. In the past too, they conducted a couple of hackathons in 2018 and 2019 successfully.

3. Social Impact

Code for Change not only tries to uplift the students pursuing technology but also thrives to create an impact on the society through various awareness programs, as our responsibility towards our nation. On numerous occasions, CFC organizes various events that aim to make some positive social impacts.
