What have you decided to study afterwards? Ask this question to the SEE graduates. They with confidently reply you with the subject they have predetermined. But if you ask the same question to the +2 graduates, most of them will say “I am not sure yet.” Deciding what to study after +2 is definitely a tuff decision to take. Physics, Chemistry, English, Nepali are compulsory subjects while you will have option between Computer and Biology and also between Social Studies in Maths. This may help you if you have read Biology in 11th and 12th.

The scope of science is really broad. Science is a gateway for you to enter the technology sector and the biological sector. Technically, after reading Science in +2 you can enter any sector of your choice may it be the scientific sector itself or management. The choice is yours.

Medical and Paramedical Sector

Medical and paramedical sector differ from each other on the basis of involvement of surgery. For instance, MBBS graduate doctors can perform surgery while a BPT graduate physiotherapist cannot. In order to take courses of either of these sectors, students have to appear on Common Entrance Examination (CEE) given by Medical Education Commission (MEC) of Nepal. To appear on CEE students must have passed +2 in Science or A-level with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as major subjects with minimum 2.4 GPA in each subject.

  • MBBS (Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery): 4.5years + 1year internship
  • BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery): 4years + 1year internship
  • Bsc. Nursing: 4years + 4months internship
  • BPT (Bachelor in Physiotherapy): 4 years + 5months internship
  • BMIT (Bachelor in Medical Imaging Technology): 3years + 1year internship
  • BMLT (Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology): 3years + 6months internship
  • BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): 5.5 years + 1year internship
  • BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery): 4.5 years + 1year internship
  • B. Pharma (Bachelor in Pharmacy): 4 years (internship not compulsory)
  • Bachelor in Perfusion Technology: 4 years + 6months-1year internship
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy: 4 years + 6months internship
