The ‘Kumari Bank NewBiz Startup Summit and Awards’ was conducted at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu with a program. New Business Age Pvt Ltd had organized this program as part of an attempt to recognize and award a number of top-performing startups as well as to inspire new business concepts across the country.
The top five startups (Aama Agro Products, Admana Technology, Leaf Plus, Nepal Agro Inputs Marketing & Entrepreneurship Services, Upaya City Cargo) shortlisted for the ‘Kumari Bank NewBiz Startup Summit and Awards – Best Startup of the Year 2021’ had presented their business plans. Based on their presentation, the jury panel picked Upaya City Cargo as the Best Startup of the Year 2021. Similarly, Leaf Plus Pvt Ltd was announced Second and Aama Agro Products was announced Third Best Startup of the Year 2021. The remaining two startups (Admana Technology and Nepal Agro Inputs Marketing & Entrepreneurship Services) were also felicitated as “One of the Best Five Startups”. According to the organizer, the top five startups had gone through an intensive screening procedure and were invited to the final showdown for their pitches in front of the judges and the audience of the grand ceremony. The panel chose 40 startups in the first round from a pool of over 1,700 startups from throughout the country. The awards were presented to the winners by Madan Lamsal, chairman of New Business Age, Pradhuman Pokharel, CEO of Muktinath Bank, and jury members.

Upaya City Cargo Pvt Ltd received a cash prize of Rs 100,000 along with a certificate of honor and a trophy whereas Leaf Plus Pvt Ltd received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a certificate and trophy. Likewise, Aama Agro Products Ltd was presented a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with a certificate and trophy. Tenzing Sonam Gonsar (Founder & CEO of TEAM Ventures Pvt Ltd), Sumana Shrestha (Founder & Managing partner of Kosi Collaborative) and Niraj Khanal (Co-founder/CEO of Antarprerana) were the members of the jury committee Chaired by Siddhant Raj Pandey (CEO of Business Oxygen).
