With the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases across the country in recent weeks, we are forced to stay in our homes yet again. Making this time productive is a challenging job but it provides you with an opportunity to explore and try out new things. From skilling up on something new, learning new languages & keeping track of your health, these apps will help you get through your lockdown time making it fruitful and productive. We’ve not included the obvious ones which you use almost daily including messenger, TikTok, Netflix, and Spotify among others. Here are the absolute best ones which you must try during this lockdown
Duolingo
You may have a strong desire to learn a new language but haven’t got the time due to the busy schedule. Well, lockdown can be the perfect time for you to be fluent in your desired language and Duolingo will be perfect for you. Duolingo is a free and straightforward language learning app that is simple to use. You can choose from 38 different languages and start learning from the most basic words up to advanced phrases and conversational sentences.
Forest
Just as the name suggests, Forest is the app that provides you a feel of a forest when you’re stuck at home. Many of you are doing work from home and you may feel various distractions during the session. Forest helps you to eliminate those distractions and help you focus more on your task which in turn increases your productivity. You will have to plant a virtual tree in the app and stay focused. If you lose your focus from the tree your tree will die but if you became intensely focused on your task you’ll grow a forest full of trees. The cool thing is that forest will actually plant a real tree on your behalf if you focused optimally and the app has planted a million trees till now.
Home workout-No equipment
Home workout-no equipment is one of my favourite exercising app which I’ve been using since the last lockdown. The app has workouts for your abs, chest, legs, arms, and butt as well as full-body workouts. All the workouts are designed by experts. And none of them needs equipment. It just takes a few minutes a day, it can effectively tone your muscles and help you be healthy and physically fit. The app includes multiple Exercises including Push-ups, squats, sit-ups, plank, crunch, wall sit, jumping jacks, punch, triceps dips, lunges, and many more.
Google Socratic
Socratic is a learning app that I’ve been using for quite a long time. It is powered by Google’s latest learning AI. You can ask Socratic any question from school level up to university level and the app provides you online resources to answer your questions. You can find videos, step-by-step explanations, and more interactive ways to learn subjects at your own pace. Google Socratic covers Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, literature and new subjects are added frequently.
Medium
Medium is the app that I think everybody should have on their smartphones. In case you didn’t already know about the app, it’s a free app that has tons of in-depth articles on pretty much everything. What makes medium best is its quality of blogs. The majority of the blogs on the medium are about some kind of experiences of creators on what they’ve gone through. As it’s written by the person itself you’ll find the raw version of their stories and can emotionally connect easily. The blogs are simple yet effective. you can even share your own experience on something through this platform and reach millions of like-minded folks.
