After a series of rumors and speculations, Samsung finally unveiled its S22 lineup. The Galaxy S22 series consists of S22 Ultra, S22, and S22+. Basically, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a Samsung Galaxy Note where they have just removed the Note branding. Since the S22 Ultra gets an S-Pen like the Samsung Galaxy Note Series used to get. The S22 Ultra offers a 6.8-inch screen, a built-in S pen stylus, and a boatload of cameras. Let’s have a look at the S22 Ultra price in Nepal (expected) along with its specifications and features.
Display and Design
The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a gorgeous 6.8 inches QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a screen resolution of 1440 x 3080 pixels with a pixel density of 500 ppi. Adding to this, the S22 Ultra flaunts a 120Hz refresh rate display that can go as below as 1Hz. The S22 Ultra display can achieve a peak brightness of 1750 nits and it is the brightest in the smartphone market. Similarly, it supports the touch sampling rate up to 240Hz which has a 100% DCI–P3 color gamut. This gorgeous display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Moreover, it has a center-aligned punch-hole cutout for the housing of the selfie camera.
The S22 Ultra measures 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm (6.43 x 3.07 x 0.35 in) and weighs 229 grams. Adding to this, the S22 Ultra comes with IP68 water and dust resistance that can service up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
Camera and Battery
Samsung has remodeled the camera design at the rear. And, honestly, it looks a bit weird at the first glance. Adding to this, the S22 Ultra has similar camera hardware to its predecessor. Talking about the camera, the S22 Ultra comes with a 108–megapixel as the main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses. However, the field of view on the wide and telephoto lenses is slightly wider on the Galaxy S22 Ultra compared to its predecessor. For selfies, the S22 Ultra will be using a 40-megapixel camera.
In the battery department, the S22 Ultra will feature a massive 5000mAh battery that supports the 45W of fast charging.
Chipset, Storage & Software
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for the country like the USA, China, and India. Similarly, for other nations, they will get the Exynos 2200 chipset variant. Since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant is going to be available in India. Some chances are there for it to be available in Nepal as well. Talking about the chipset, both the Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets are based on a 4nm manufacturing process and comes with an eight-core CPU. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes with Adreno 730 GPU while the Exynos 2200 features AMD RDBA2-based Xclipse 920 GPU. I am eagerly waiting to see the performance of the Exynos chipset. As there were various rumors and speculations going on regarding the collaboration between Samsung and AMD. And, finally, the S22 Ultra makes it come true.
The base variant of the phone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The other three variants are 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage which ships with 12GB of RAM. Samsung has decided to omit the micro SD card slot this year.
On the software front, it ships with One UI 4.1 which is based on the latest Android 12. Samsung has also promised to provide 4 years of major Android updates along with the security patch update for 5 years with all their new flagships.
