Motorola Launches Moto G84 5G with pOLED Display and Snapdragon 695

Motorola has expanded its affordable G-series portfolio in India with the launch of the new Moto G84 5G. Priced competitively, the phone brings features like a 120Hz pOLED display, Snapdragon 695 chipset, 5G connectivity, and fast charging support.

The Moto G84 5G is priced at ₹19,999 for the  12GB+256GB variant in India and will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting September 8.

Display and Design

The Moto G84 5G sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED display with support for 10-bit colors and up to 1300 nits peak brightness. The screen has a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth scrolling and visual experience.

The phone has a clean front design with a centrally located hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. On the back is a rectangular triple camera module. Available in two color options, the G84 5G weighs around 167g and is 7.6mm thick.

Performance and Software

Powering the Moto G84 is the Snapdragon 695 mobile platform featuring a 5G modem and Adreno 619 GPU. This is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. 

The phone boots a near-stock version of Android 13 out of the box. Motorola has promised one major OS update to Android 14.

Camera

For photography, the Moto G84 gets a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The 16MP front camera utilizes an RGBW sensor for better low-light selfies.

Battery and Connectivity

Packed inside the Moto G84 5G is a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W TurboPower fast charging via the USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and NFC.

The phone also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and boasts dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Sensors onboard include ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope and side-mounted fingerprint reader.
