The application form for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has opened in Nepal from today, March 22. From this year, the application fee for the test can be paid online from the Khalti Digital wallet.
Starting from this year, the Japanese Language Teacher’s Association Nepal (JALTAN) – the body that administers JLPT in Nepal – has collaborated with Khalti to introduce an online payment facility for the test. Tens of thousands of Nepali youths aspiring to study in Japan are likely to get relief as they could pay the application fee for JLPT online. The application fee for the test has been fixed at three thousand rupees.
Japan is an attractive educational destination for Nepali youths. Every year, tens of thousands of students leave for Japan for higher education. All the students aspiring to go to Japan for higher education must take the JLPT test and pass the exam. In the past years, when there was no other option to pay the exam fee, the students had to visit the JALTAN office at Bhuktimandap and stay in queues for hours for submitting the application fee. In view of this problem, Khalti arranged for an online payment system. After completing the online form, the candidates will be redirected to an online payment page where they can enter their Khalti ID and complete the payment process in a few seconds.
Amit Agarwal, Director of Khalti, believes that allowing candidates to submit fee through an online gateway would make the process hassle-free. He shared, “We are excited to partner with JALTAN to provide Khalti’s easy online payment services to all JLPT candidates in Nepal. Now the candidates can pay the exam fee easily from their mobile phone. Also, those who do not use Khalti can pay the fee at their nearest Khalti Pasal.”
Japanese language exams can be filled through JLPT’s application form jlpt.org.np. All the details to be taken care of while filling up the form and the digital payment procedure can be found on the same website.
The JLPT exam this year has been scheduled for March 5.
