The Government of Nepal has appointed Dr. Baikuntha Aryal as the new Chief Secretary. The Council of Ministers approved the decision in a meeting today, according to Minister for Drinking Water Mahindra Ray Yadav.
Dr. Aryal, who was serving as the Secretary at the Council of Minister, will now take over the role of Chief Secretary. He has previously served as Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply.
The cabinet meeting also approved the resignation of outgoing Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi. The government has appointed Bairagi as an advisor to the National Security Council.
