Xiaomi hosted a major event in Barcelona ahead of MWC, unveiling its latest flagship smartphones tailored for the global audience. Both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets which were presented at the event but the 14 Pro is bounded within the Chinese market.
Xiaomi 14
The Xiaomi 14 was initially unveiled in China on October 26, 2023 and now has finally made its way out to the global market. The regular 14 model is a breathe of a fresh air among as it is a complete flagship package in a smaller footprint of just 6.36” diagonal screen, which can be a contender for the compact phone of the year. The Xiaomi 14 comes with a 1200p LTPO OLED with up to 3000 nits peak brightness and pixel density of 440 ppi and a complete set of back triple 50 MP cameras. All the wide ,telephoto and ultrawide are 50 MP shooters with Leica branding. The selfie snapper is 32 MP f/2.0 with a pixel size of 0.7μm and 89.6° FOV.The front camera this time unlocks the 4K video capturing up to 60fps.
The primary camera features a more luminous f/1.6 aperture and a larger 1/1.31” sensor with dual-pixel PDAF. The telephoto camera boasts a 75 mm equivalent 3.2x zoom lens, while the third camera is an ultra-wide-angle lens. Another enhancement in the Xiaomi 14 is the slightly larger 4,610 mAh battery, accompanied by faster 90W wired charging, and consistent 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging. In every sense the Xiaomi 14 is a true flagship even after considering its size.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
The 14 ultra was announced in China just days prior to its global release. The phone was announced in China in Feb 22 with 3 different colour variants but Xioami decided to omit the blue 14 ultra with ceramic back in the global market leaving with the vegan leather and glass back option only for the global audience.

While maintaining the same 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel as its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra now achieves an impressive peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The addition of a custom protective sheet called Shield Glass further enhances its durability.
Similarly as its display the 14 ultra also has the same set of four 50 MP rear cameras as its predecessor. The main upgrade for the primary sensor is the f/1.63-f/4.0 stepless variable aperture.
Surprisingly, the European or say the global version of 14 ultra comes with 5000 mAH battery matching it’s predecessor again but it has been nerfed from a 5300mAh battery that ships in the Chinese market. The charging speed is the same across the region which is 90W wired charging, 80W wireless and 10W reverse wireless. The phone comes with Android 14 and Hyper OS out of the box.
