WordCamp Asia 2024, Asia’s premier WordPress conference has announced a diversity scholarship program for active WordPress contributors who have never attended a flagship WordCamp before and need financial support to do so.
WordCamp Asia 2024 Diversity Scholarship
The scholarship aims to make the conference more accessible to those from underrepresented groups in the WordPress community. After successful implementation last year, WordCamp Asia is continuing the scholarship with support from its overall event sponsorship fund. Two scholarships will be awarded – one for an attendee outside of Taiwan, and one for a local resident.
The scholarship will cover the travel, accommodation, and ticket costs for two recipients: one from outside Taiwan and one from the host country. The recipients will be selected by a panel of WordCamp Central program managers based on their involvement in the WordPress project, their interest in growing their local or regional WordPress community, and their personal story.
The deadline for applying for the scholarship is February 2, 2024, and the results will be announced by February 9, 2024. The scholarship covers travel, accommodations, and conference ticket costs. Also, the scholars will have the opportunity to connect and learn from WordPress experts, contributors, and users from a wide range of backgrounds.
