Vivo Apex 2020: A Smartphone with Built-in Gimbal Camera, 16MP in-display Selfie Camera, More

Vivo was planning to unveil its latest Vivo Apex 2020 in the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona but things did not go as planned. The event got canceled. This year Vivo has brought in the in-display selfie camera and a 60W wireless charging. This phone is different from any other phone in the market. Overview

Vivo Apex 2020 has a 6.45 inches screen size and an extended screen display to its edges a 120° waterfall display. This phone has no notch. You get a clean, notch-free edge to edge screen. Moreover, there are no buttons; it uses pressure-sensing measures to control both the volume and power button. Besides, the phone has neither a headphone jack nor a USB port. This phone only supports wireless charging. If you wonder where the front camera lies this phone has an in-display selfie camera. Vivo states this concept has managed to increase the light transmittance of that portion of the screen by six times. Gaming and watching videos can be amazing on this device. It is supposed to be available in two colors: Black and White. This phone is powered by Snapdragon 865.

This phone has a dual rear camera setup. It has a 16MP periscope camera capable of continuous optical 5-7.5x zoom and a 48MP gimbal camera. The 5-7.5x optical zoom means you can achieve 7.5x zoom without having to compromise on the image quality. The gimbal camera is supposed to be better at image stabilization than the regular OIS. Vivo claims, this is 200% more effective than the traditional OIS and helps in recording super-smooth videos. It has an in-display 16mp selfie camera.

The battery size has not been announced yet but by now we know that Vivo will use wireless charging as it has no ports. Apex 2020 will use a 60W wireless charging. This superfast charging is supposed to charge 2000mAh in just 20 minutes. Vivo APEX 2020 uses the third generation Screen Sound Casting technology. It comes in 12GB+ 256GB storage variant.

This phone has amazing specs. We can’t be sure how well the camera will perform without testing it. This phone has it all from the screen to the fast charging. If these concepts work out good then this phone can become one of the best devices in the market.
