NCIT College, Balkumari, Lalitpur is thrilled to organize a global annual event HULT PRIZE on its campus premises this year (2023). The organizing team is even more eager to carry out the event effectively this year with the goal of giving business minds an open platform, given the enormous number of students who participated and demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship along with their huge ideas last year.
Under the direction of Campus Director Arjun Ghimire, the organizing committee consisting of 29 members of respective Departments i.e. Content Creation, Graphic Designer, Public Relationship, Event Manager, and Social Media Marketing of NCIT College, is determined to offer no limits in order to make this event a grand success. They have already started their preparation and are constantly working for the success of this event.
The Hult Prize offers college students the chance to host the first/initial stage of the award-winning event on their campus, which is highly advantageous and a chance to immerse themselves in the Hult Prize grounds. Following the application process, teams of 3-4 students are required to present their ideas, after which it is judged and decided by the appropriate judges on campus. The team needs to fulfill all the criteria mentioned to compete with other teams. The winning team then has the opportunity to compete against 30 or more teams in the regional round of the US$1 Million flagship startup program. Due to this Hult Prize event, more concepts and eventually more start-ups with the potential to bring about fundamental change are produced due to this global event.
This year Hult Prize challenges the youths with the theme “Redesigning Fashion” to redesign fashion in such a way that the environment is sustained as well as the fashion quality is maintained. For the fashion business to be sustainable, it must value people and the environment before product growth. It must mandate that sustainability is taken into account when valuing and investing in businesses.
The challenge this year expects the following listed steps to be followed:
Step 1: Align with one or more of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals
Step 2: Choose an area of impact in the fashion industry’s value chain that you feel passionate about.
Step 3: Build your team.
Step 4: Explore your idea with Design Thinking.
Step 5: Develop your business plan.
Step 6: Create your pitch.
Following all these necessary guidelines, NCIT is looking forward to organizing the event with complete planning.
