In a significant move that underscores its commitment to driving financial innovation and inclusion in Nepal, Fintech Alliance Nepal (FAN) has announced the appointment of a new president to lead the organization into its next phase of growth.
Mr. Sajan Sharma, the Chief Executive Officer of Citytech Group Pvt. Ltd., has been elected as the new President of FAN for the fiscal years 2080/81 and 2081/82. Sharma, a seasoned fintech entrepreneur, will spearhead a working committee of seven members as he takes the helm of this premier organization dedicated to promoting the fintech sector in Nepal.
“I am honored to have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading Fintech Alliance Nepal during this exciting time,” said Sharma. “Our organization has made remarkable strides in its inaugural year, and I am eager to build upon this momentum to drive even greater innovation and financial inclusion across the country.”
Under the leadership of the immediate past president, Mr. Sanjib Subba, FAN has already achieved significant milestones. The organization successfully conducted 12 financial awareness programs last year, featuring senior officials from Nepal Rastra Bank, various banks and financial institutions, as well as national and international partners. One of the key focus areas for FAN under Sharma’s leadership will be to foster innovation and support the development of cutting-edge fintech solutions. “Nepal’s fintech ecosystem is brimming with potential, and we are committed to providing the necessary support and resources to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive,” Sharma said. “By nurturing this ecosystem, we can unlock new opportunities for financial services and ultimately improve the lives of Nepali citizens.”
