Apple innovates, however, in many things that seem simple, it does not give up. Now we will finally have in iOS 17 a long-requested feature that was already possible to enjoy in the competition.
You will finally be able to use Apple maps offline on your iPhone. We will be able to use the feature to download information about areas or cities to our devices that are compatible with iOS 17 for use without an internet connection.
But if you think that without being connected you only have the maps downloaded, you are wrong. Offline information will have step-by-step driving directions, information for walking, cycling and even public transport information.
In addition to not needing internet to browse the maps, users will be able to see tourist points of interest, opening hours and estimated time of arrival at the destination.
The larger the area where the information is to be obtained, the heavier the download will be. And since not everything is a bed of roses, despite gaining this ability to use the maps offline, it will not be possible to have real-time access to traffic when we are using Apple maps offline.
This function will still be compatible with the Apple Watch, but without being able to download anything directly to the watch.
