Xiaomi, the globally renowned brand for providing smartphones with flagship specifications at an affordable price has stepped up its game. The Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer has set its sight into the price-sensitive gaming laptop segment of the industry. It plans to disrupt the market just like it had previously done in the smartphone segment. Redmi G 2021 Specifications and Features
Xiaomi launched two variants of the Redmi G 2021 gaming laptop on Thursday in China. Consumers can choose either the Intel variant with 11th Gen Tiger Lake-H CPU or AMD powered Ryzen 7 processor with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. Regarding the screen, The Redmi G 2021 gaming laptop comes with a 16.1 -inch display and 144Hz refresh rate with narrow bezels. The display even comes with TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light emission.
For better thermal management, the company has also packed a heat dissipation system under the hood named as Hurricane Heat Dissipation 3.0 system. Surprisingly Xiaomi managed to house two fans and four outlets to help control the heat when the laptop’s performing intense tasks. The gaming laptop has dual speakers and Dolby AC-3.0. It has a Dolby Atmos-compatible AC-3.0 speaker setup. The Redmi G 2021 gaming notebook has an IR camera for facial recognition. The laptop has hybrid cooling, and it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, DTX: X Ultra Sound, Thunderbolt 4, port. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.1, Ethernet port, and 2×3 GbE port. For storage, the laptop has a 512GB SSD with 16 GB RAM.
The AMD variant of the laptop also comes with additional copper heat pipes and even gets a faster 230W power adapter A 50 W increment compared to its Intel counterpart which gets only a 180W adapter. The affordable gaming laptop comes preinstalled with Xiao AI digital assistant, Xiaomi game box and brings full size-keyboard experience with three-level backlighting.
Will Xiaomi launch its laptop in Nepal?
The Intel variant of Redmi G 2021 is priced at CNY 5,699 (Approx, NPR 104,000). Whereas the AMD variant comes at CNY 6,999 ( Approx NPR 128,0000). Xiaomi hasn’t clarified whether Redmi G 2021 will be available outside China or not yet. However, there are high chances that the gaming laptop will be available outside China including Nepal in the coming months. The company has started accepting pre-orders for the gaming laptop from Friday in China and will start shipping very soon. It is expected that Xiaomi will launch the laptop in Nepal after a few months.
