Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max have launched a few months ago and are doing pretty good among Nepalese consumers. Now, Redmi Note 9S has been launched in Nepal which is just a global variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. So, let us recall its specs and see if there’s anything different.
Redmi Note 9S Overview
Redmi Note 9S features a 6.67 inches dot display and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects both the front and back. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor has the power button and fingerprint sensor combined at one touch sensor. Sadly, the refresh rate is a traditional 60 Hz compared to the similarly priced Realme 6.
Under the hood, the Note 9 Pro compromises of Snapdragon 720 G built on the 8nm process with Adreno 618 GPU for Gaming. Compared to last year’s Note 8 Pro’s Helio G90T, it is built on a smaller architecture thus improving thermals and battery life. The CPU scores are more on the 720G whereas G90T has better GPU scores.
Bearing the same quad-camera setup as of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, we can see a 48MP ISCOCELL GM2 main sensor from Samsung, 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide, a 5MP macro with autofocus, and lastly a 2MP depth sensor. The front sensor is a 16MP for decent selfies. Compared to Note 8 Pro from last year, Note 9S gets a lower MP main and a higher MP macro sensor. If you want a higher MP main sensor, you can get the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
The phone has a 5020 mAh battery that supports the 18W fast charger provided in the box. The phone comes with a pre-installed screen protector so you don’t need to buy one.

Conclusion
In the end, there seems to be no difference compared to the already launched Redmi Note 9 Pro at least on paper. We hope some changes have been made and errors found on the Note 9 Pro have been improved here for a better user experience. Overall, it is still a solid phone for the price in Nepal.
