Xiaomi Nepal has recently launched the Redmi 9T. Not much hype was created for its launch and we can surely understand why. The phone is a rebranded version of Redmi 9 Power which is already available in the Nepalese market. Anyways, let us quickly go through its specs and pricing.
Redmi 9T Overview
Design and Display
The design is totally identical to Redmi 9 Power and there are 4 color options available: Sunset Orange, Twilight Blue, Carbon Gray, and Ocean Green. The back texture is fingerprint resistant with a Redmi logo. Though there is no IP-certification, the phone is splash-proof. The rectangular camera module lies on the top left. The company is calling this design ‘Aura Power’. So, where’s the fingerprint sensor? It is embedded in the power button.
The display is a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is a dewdrop notch up top and the refresh rate is capped at 60Hz which is expected of a budget phone.
Performance and Cameras
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 662 based on 11nm architecture and is coupled with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. The storage options here use slightly different tech. 64GB variant has UFS 2.1 protocol whereas 128GB has faster UFS 2.2 storage. Snapdragon 662 is mostly confused with Snapdragon 665 as they both use the same GPU and have same core-count. The only difference is lower clock speed of the cores in 665. On the software side, the phone runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
The quad-camera setup on the back bump consists of a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro. Upfront, there’s an 8MP sensor inside the notch.
