Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager for Xiaomi Nepal had been teasing us with the launch of Poco X3 in Nepal and now it is finally here. This is going to be the reigning king of mid-range smartphones for obvious reasons. In case you don’t know what the reasons are, let me quickly help you with this article.
Poco X3 Overview
Display
Poco X3 has a big screen size of 6.67 inches with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. It has a screen to body ratio of 91.25%. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The best part about the refresh rate that is unexpected in this price range is its Dynamic Switch feature which adjusts the refresh rate as per the task you are doing on the phone. It is different from simply changing the refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz and vice versa. We will explain it in detail in our full review.
Performance
Moving on, Poco X3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor. The “G” stands for the powerful gaming performance offered by the processor. This processor has strong graphics processing capacity and advanced AI computing capabilities. All the popular high end games like PUBG Mobile, COD will be able to run in their high settings by this processor. To compliment your gaming experience, the phone also has liquid cooling, Game Turbo 3.0 and a Z-axis linear haptic motor.
On the software side, it has MIUI 12 based on Android 10. Similarly, the 6GB LPPDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage will keep the phone smooth during all kinds of multitasking. We hope other variants will soon be launched in Nepal.
Camera
The camera module on the back has a peculiar design. It sports a quad-camera setup which includes a 64MP main camera with f/1.73 aperture, 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture, 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 20MP front camera.
Other Features
This phone still has a 3.5mm headphone jack but the dual stereo speakers are the ones to look out for as they are rarely seen in phones of this price range. The sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. Similarly, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1and GPS are all here. As mentioned in the title, the phone also comes with NFC.
Battery
The phone has a decent battery of 5160mAh, unlike its Indian variant which has a bigger battery of 6000mAh. The 33W fast charger provided in the box is able to quickly charge the 5160mAH battery which provides a company claimed battery backup of 10 hours during gaming and 17 hours during video playback.

Conclusion
I know Xiaomi Nepal rarely disappoints us with the pricing but this time they nailed it completely. I don’t think any other phone out there in the Nepalese market will outperform this for a while now.Well, I can’t wait to test it out and maybe compare it with Realme 7 ?
