After teasing the phone for some time, Poco has officially launched its latest entry-level device: Poco C3 in Nepal with the tagline “Game Chang3R”. Poco is a Xiaomi based company focused to change consumers’ mentality on what budget phone could offer you for the price, in a positive way. For example, the very first Poco phone: The Poco F1, which offered premium specs at a mid-range price. But this time, the company heads in a different direction. Their new lineup, C is based on the entry-level market with minimal cost and optimal performance. Poco C3 looks almost identical to the previously launched Redmi 9C, internally and externally. So, can we say that Poco is running out of ideas to innovate the tech in smartphones? Let’s find out in this overview with Poco C3 price in Nepal.
Poco C3 Overview
Build & Display
The reason we didn’t see or hear about any other C devices like C1 or C2 is the design. The name C3 is given because of its triple camera arrangement, nothing else. As mentioned earlier, the phone looks strikingly similar to Redmi 9C, with plastic back. The back cover has two-tone pattern as compared to one-tone on Redmi 9C. Unfortunately, we don’t get a fingerprint scanner at the back as on 9C. The phone comes in three color options: Arctic Blue, Lime Green & Matte Black. There is a water-drop notch up at the front.

The display of the phone features a 6.43″ HD+ IPS LCD panel with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. This is a tall display with 20:9 aspect ratio. It is protected by Panda Glass against minor scratches and drops.
Performance
The performance on Poco C3 is below par, as compared to other Poco devices which offered mid-range to premium performance every time. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC with octa-core configuration. It is little disappointing knowing the company’s reputation, but we will have to remind ourselves of the price too. This doesn’t mean that the phone cannot function well. It’s a gaming focused chip-set with enough power to let you sail through apps and play some low or mid end games. For the price range, the processor performs just fine for most of the users. It’s a 12nm chipset, meaning less power consumption and easy on the battery life. With upto 4GB of RAM, you will not find any lag or stutters using day-to-day apps and doing multitasking.
Camera
For camera, there is a triple camera setup on the back. To cut the cost, Poco decided to use the exact module and sensors as on Redmi 9C. The primary sensor features 13MP main lens with 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. It includes features like inclusion of LED flash, HDR, portrait mode and many more. As for selfie, there is a 5MP lens with f/2.2 aperture. It supports HDR as well.
Other Features
Talking about battery, there is a massive 5000mAh non-removable battery. With low power consuming internals, you should get a full day battery out of this phone. And if you ever need to charge the phone, there is a 10W microUSB 2.0 charger included in the box as well. Unlike Redmi 9C, the company has dropped the fingerprint scanner which is unexpected. We do get P2i coating to protect the device from splash of water, sweat and dust. It’s nice to see companies, specially Xiaomi and Poco pushing this feature in entry level devices as well.
