Nubia Z30 Pro Launched: 120W Charging, 144Hz AMOLED, 16GB RAM

ZTE is a popular brand in China and some parts of Asia and Europe, though not in the USA amidst the ban. Today, Nubia, a subsidiary brand of ZTE has launched Nubia Z30 Pro in China. If you remember ZTE Axon 30 Ultra, is the rebranded version of the same phone with different color options and other improvements. With those specs, it should be exciting enough for all smartphone enthusiasts around the globe. So, let’s take a look at ZTE Nubia Z30 Pro with full specifications and availability.

The phone has a huge camera housing on the back, much like Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The back is busy with branding and camera details beside the camera bump. There are three color options, Silver, Black and Black Gold. The front has curved edges, that reminds me of Note 10 series from Samsung.

One of the many selling points of the phone is its display. On the front, there is 6.67″ FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It has 10-bit color depth, meaning it can display more than 1 billion colors. It also has DC dimming feature that lowers the actual power on the display to dim it. So, the display used here is a top class as expected.

It has the latest and greatest flagship from Qualcomm namely Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. This is a 5G CPU used in most of the flagships these days, including the likes of Mi 11 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is an octa-core processor built on 5nm process. There is Adreno 660 as GPU. In terms of RAM/ROM configuration, the phone goes up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of camera, there is a quad camera setup on the back. There are some interesting lenses though. The main sensor is 64MP, f/1.6 with Laser AF and OIS, 64MP sensor with “humanistic shot”, 64MP ultra-wide sensor and 8MP periscope lens with OIS, 5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom. In terms of selfie, there is 16MP sensor in the hole-punch cutout at the center. Interestingly, this camera setup can do astro-photography without the need of a tripod. It can also record 8K videos at 30fps.

Other Features

There is a rather small 4,200mAh battery with impressive 120W fast charging support. The company claims that it can charge the phone in around 15 minutes, which is just incredible. There is no headphone jack on the phone though. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display.
