Khalti, an emerging Digital Wallet of Nepal, recently got a Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from Nepal Rastra Bank in 24th April 2019. IME Pay was the first digital app to get this license followed by eSewa and now Khalti gets Digital payment license. Along with this license, Khalti can now carry out digital wallet services, domestic money transfer, and mobile financial facilities.
Khalti was launched in Nepal in January 2017. After the continual effort since two years, Khalti has now got a PSP license which is a big step towards its further endeavors as a digital payment company. Though it has been only two years of its launch, Khalti has already become very popular among people or we can say this app has earned a great support from the users.
The major services provided by Khalti include Mobile Top-up, DTH, Internet, Landline, Electricity, Water bill payments, Insurance payments along with Flights and Hotel Bookings. You can also use Khalti to pay your Credit Card bills, Share Payments, Subscribe Newspapers and so on.
Beside the payment services, Khalti has launched a Smart Chhori campaign aiming to provide Digital and Financial Literacy to Nepali Girls in order to empower them.
According to Khalti, there are around 8,00,000 active Khalti users which includes more than 8000 Khalti POS across the nation. Currently, you can load money to Khalti from 40 banks as well as send money from Khalti to Bank accounts directly.
