Infinix Nepal has just launched a new entry-level smartphone, Infinix Smart 5 in Nepal as Daraz exclusive. Let us see what it offers at its budget pricing.
Infinix Smart 5 Overview
Design and Display
Considering the price, it has an expected plastic back and frame with glossy finish. Triple camera module, physical fingerprint sensor and ‘Smart’ branding can be seen on the back. The gem-cut design on the back has subtle patterns and color variation in every angle.
The display is a huge 6.6-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. The waterdrop notch is present up top whereas the bezels are very thin on all sides. It is similar to Infinix Hot 9 Play.
Software and Performance
It is powered by Helio A20 chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz which isn’t suited for performance hungry tasks. Maybe, not even for multi-tab internet browsing. That’s why the company has gone the generous route on the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage which is rare at this price range.
For compensating the underpowered processor, the phone runs on Android 10 GO edition which makes the software experience smoother.
The company is also advertising DTS audio processing capability in this phone. For security, there’s a rear fingerprint sensor and not-so-secure Face Unlock.
Camera
The triple rear camera setup is kind of confusing here. The main 13MP with autofocus seems reasonable but the additional two QVGA lens seem to be gimmicks as the company hasn’t revealed what they are intended for. The rear setup also consists of a LED flash. Video capability from the main sensor is up to 1080p@30fps. Inside the front waterdrop notch lies an 8MP selfie sensor.
Battery
The main attraction on this phone has to be its massive 5000mAh battery which is said to offer up to 3 days of battery backup. It can be charged via the 10W charger provided in the box. Sadly, the port is micro-USB and not Type-C.
